Grace Kelly & J. Dash are Coming to the Summit

October 6, 2021

You know that Upswell is about creating a racially just and healthy society. So, let’s focusing on the “creating” part for a minute.

Creating something starts with vision and purpose. It requires an ability to understand how disparate pieces fit together to create harmony. It calls for flexibility, collaboration, and adaptation. And it demands a soul-stirring passion -- the kind that can energize us in the toughest moments and inspire others to join our movement.

In other words, creating a better future asks us to take an artist’s perspective on our work. And that’s why the arts are such a vital part of the Upswell experience.

Today, we’re thrilled to introduce you to the artists who are going to fuel your spirit and expand your view at this year’s Summit.

On a special Main Stage presented by the NAMM Foundation, unequivocal musical prodigy, singer-saxophonist-songwriter-composer, and band leader Grace Kelly will give a rousing performance. If you aren’t one of the millions who witnessed her viral sensation Fish & Chips, then you’ve surely experienced one of her brilliant collaborations with Lin-Manuel Miranda, Questlove, Harry Connick Jr., Gloria Estefan, or Wynton Marsalis.

Following her performance, she’ll join rapper-songwriter-multi-instrumentalist visionary (and returning Upswell legend) J. Dash for a conversation about the incredible power of music to create change.

Also at the Summit, you'll have the chance to groove with Las Cafeteras, who masterfully fuse roots music, rock, hip-hop, and rancheras to tell modern-day stories of Latino and immigrant lives.

And Megan Lowe will bring her genre-bending style of modern dance -- which she officially describes in her bio as "opening up the imagination to what is possible."

We like the sound of that!

Upswell is just two weeks away. Trust us, this is the one event you won't want to miss.
